Understanding KYB: Why We Verify Your Business

At Toyow, we are committed to building a secure and transparent marketplace for Real-World Assets. To ensure the safety of all participants and comply with global financial standards, we require all corporate entities to complete a Know Your Business (KYB) verification.

What is KYB?

KYB is a mandatory due diligence process used to verify the legal identity of a business entity. While KYC (Know Your Customer) focuses on individuals, KYB ensures that the companies using our platform are legitimate, legally registered, and in good standing. The process typically involves identifying:

  • Legal Entity Details: Company name, registration number, and official address.

  • Ultimate Beneficial Owners (UBOs): The individuals who ultimately own or control the business

  • Authorized Representatives: The person authorized to act on behalf of the company on our platform.

Why is KYB Required?

We understand that providing business documentation takes time, but it is a critical step for several reasons:

  • Regulatory Compliance: As a platform dealing with tokenized assets and blockchain technology, we adhere to Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Counter-Terrorist Financing (CTF) regulations. KYB is a legal requirement to prevent financial crimes.

  • Enhancing Platform Trust: By verifying every business, we ensure that you are transacting in a marketplace where every participant has been vetted. This reduces the risk of fraud and shell company activity.

  • Protecting Your Assets: Verifying the "Ultimate Beneficial Owners" ensures that we know exactly who is behind a corporate account, protecting the integrity of the assets being traded and the funds being moved.

By completing your KYB, you contribute to maintaining a secure and trusted environment within the ecosystem.
